Hearing Therapist - Blenheim

LIFE Unlimited Charitable Trust provides services to people with disabilities, including national hearing therapy services.

We are seeking applications from candidates wishing to establish a career in providing rehabilitation services to adults with hearing loss.We are interested in mature, energetic, enthusiastic selfstarters who have proven people, communication and organisational skills.

Critical in this role is the ability to work independently, innovatively and flexibly in a range of community settings. Computer skills are essential, along with an awareness of, and sensitivity to, different cultural needs and disability issues. A relevant qualifi cation or experience in the human services/health/disability sectors is a pre-requisite.

The successful applicant will receive a paid scholarship for specialist training (NZQA registered Diploma) in Auckland between July and October 2009. Upon successful completion of this programme, a permanent part-time position (20 hrs/wk) to practice as a trainee Hearing Therapist in Blenheim will be offered. To qualify as a hearing therapist further on-job training must be completed during the ensuing 20 months.
