About the Showhome

  • The LIFE Unlimited fully accessible Showhome was built by Lockwood Homes and is the first of its kind in New Zealand. It stands as an example as to how organisations can work together to build accessible health and disability services.
  • Many household and assistive equipment items are displayed as they would look in your own home - in situations showing how easy it could be to bring living independence to everyone.
  • Thefully accessible Showhome includes a modified kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom - and everyone can actively use and try out the equipment.
  • Whatever the disability or age, we provide access to support and advisory services, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and health care professionals.
  • Not only is the Showhome a unique experience for people with disabilities, carers, health professionals, builders and architects, it also supports the educational activities of LIFE Unlimited throughout the Waikato region and beyond.
  • The LIFE Unlimited Showhome builds awareness and provides free information to schools and the community.

Our range of Equipment and Services includes:

Kitchen

Tap turners, kettle tipper, jar/bottle openers, non-slip matting, rehab trolleys, modified kitchen utensils, perching stool, height adjustable benches, modified crockery, modified cutlery.

Lounge

Orthopaedic furniture, height adjustable chair, Eazi reaches, adapted telephone.

Bedroom

Over-bed pole, electronic hoist, over bed table, bed lever, one touch bedside lamps, lifting belts and bed cradles.

A full range of continence-wear

Bathroom

Self propelling and bedside commodes, shower stool and chairs, over toilet frame, raised toilet seats, bath boards and rubber bath mats.

General

Raised gardens, remote control alarm and lighting, one-touch heating and cooling, intercom, modified garden equipment, wheelchairs, mobility scooters, a variety of safety rails and a range of equipment people are able to hire.

And if you can't find what you're looking for, we have access to a vast range of resources and experienced staff to assist you. If you need it, we'll try our best to get it - whether it be a piece of equipment, impartial advice of just a helping hand.
